Account & Data Deletion
Effective August 22, 2026
At Chores Weekly, we believe you should always have full control over your personal data. You have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated information at any time.
Option 1: In-App Self-Service Deletion (Instant)
The fastest way to deactivate and delete your account directly.
If you have access to your account on the web or mobile app, you can delete your account immediately:
- Sign into Chores Weekly.
- Navigate to your Profile Settings (click your avatar or menu at the top right).
- Scroll to the Danger Zone card at the bottom.
- Click Delete Account.
- Review the permanent deletion terms, type
DELETEinto the confirmation field, and click Delete My Account.
Option 2: External Deletion Request (No Login Required)
For users who have uninstalled the app or lost access to their account.
If you cannot log in or have uninstalled the app from your mobile device, you can submit a manual deletion request by sending an email to our support team from the email address associated with your account:

Please include the subject line “Account Deletion Request” and the email address used to create your Chores Weekly account.
We will verify account ownership and process manual requests within 30 days of receipt.
What data is deleted
When an account deletion is initiated, the following data categories are scheduled for permanent removal:
- Account identity & authentication: Your user ID, email address, display name, profile avatar, and active authentication tokens.
- Owned household data: All households created by your account, including custom chore rosters, point values, prizes, and chore schedules.
- Household memberships: Your membership profile and history in shared households created by other members will be unlinked.
- Activity & completions: Historical chore completion logs, XP tables, notes, and activity records.
- Notification subscriptions: Email reminder schedules, timezone settings, and web push notification endpoints.
- Developer API keys: All personal developer tokens and key hashes.
- Attached media: Any chore completion photo proof uploads stored in object storage.
Permanent data erasure
When you delete your account:
- Immediate deactivation: Your account is signed out immediately and banned from further sign-ins.
- Permanent removal: Your owned households, chore schedules, completion records, notifications, and personal profile data are permanently and irreversibly removed.
Shared households note
If you are a member of a household owned by another user, deleting your account removes your identity and unlinks your member profile. The overarching household and any chore templates created by the household owner remain accessible to other participating members.
